Founder & Chef, Heather Hardcastle’s favorite food is and has always been toast! When she eliminated gluten from her diet over 20 years ago, she was disappointed by the lack of quality bread on which to enjoy her favorite daily meal. So she decided she would just have to learn to make it for herself.
Her passion soon led to a career change, a degree in baking & pastry arts, and countless recipe trials. Fast forward to 2010, when together with husband, Rick Perko they decided to turn Heather’s passion into a business. Heather & Rick opened the original Flour Craft Bakery in 2013, to share their creations with their local community.
Over the past decade Flour Craft has opened a second location at the Mil Valley Lumber Yard in 2018, published a cookbook, launched a line of gluten free granolas, and developed a line of gluten free baking mixes. At the heart of the business however, Heather & her pastry team continue to perfect the craft of gluten free baking every day, creating inspired, seasonal recipes that set the standard in their field.
